What an amazing experience!  Last night I was lucky enough to get a ticket to the latest Cameron film, Avatar in all its 3D glory.  Needless to say the theatre was packed and I was stuck in the front row straining my neck to watch this much anticipated film  The 3D affects are truly amazing and night and day from the old 3D movies that I remembered from child hood.  The film had a pretty solid story line with stunning action scenes and fantasy landscapes like none I have seen before.  I higly recommend seeing it in the theatre to get the true 3D experience.
